Hobs Moat Library will temporarily close from Monday 27 November 2023 until 10am on Thursday 28 December 2023.
This is to allow for essential electrical improvements including the installation of efficient LED lighting throughout the building.
The nearest library for customers during this temporary closure is Olton.
All loans from Hobs Moat Library will now automatically be extended until Monday 8 January 2024 to take into account this temporary period of disruption.
If customers would like to renew items during this period, they can do this online with their library card and PIN or by phone on 0121 704 6965. Alternatively, customers can also return books via a drop box outside the library.
Customers have the alternative option of using the Council’s eLibrary which has a wealth of eBooks and eAudiobooks available to download.
Solihull Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Leisure, Cllr Wazma Qais, said: “I would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause to our customers. These planned works are essential for the ongoing maintenance of Hobs Moat Library.
“Customers can be reassured that loan periods have been extended to enable flexible borrowings and returns during this period. We look forward to welcoming our customers back soon.”
