Inaugural meeting held to discuss improving services for children in Solihull

Released:

Senior figures at Solihull Council (SMBC), Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care Board (BSol ICB), and West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner (WMPCC) have met to discuss how they will work together to improve the services they provide for children in Solihull.

This newly established group brings together the political/board leaders from each organisation to have strategic oversight and direction on the improvement work that is underway.

Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council, said: “I am pleased to be working with my colleagues in police and health and we are committed to having ongoing meetings at this senior level to take forward the improvement work in Solihull.

“We know from recent inspections and reviews where improvements need to be made, in particular ensuring that as a partnership we have better systems and processes in place to protect children from harm.

“It is crucial that as leaders we have a handle on the challenges facing our organisations and can provide the necessary support and direction to provide better outcomes for children.”
