Privacy Notice for Streetcare, Forestry and Public Realm
Our Streetcare, Parks and Forestry services work hard to tackle the daily challenge of keeping our borough clean and green.
Working with our contract partner Veolia and Idverde, our Streetcare services keep our streets clean and clear from litter and debris by collecting around 5,500 tonnes of litter and mechanically sweeping almost 10,000 miles of roads every year. We cut and maintain over 10,000 miles of grass verges and over 20,000 miles of park and open space and are responsible for maintaining a vast variety of shrubs, hedges, floral and horticultural features throughout our highways, housing areas, parks and open spaces.
We are committed to maintaining and developing 18 principal parks and 1500 acres of open space, recreation and conservation areas. Ensuring our parks serve our communities as facilities for sport, recreation, learning, conservation and play. We have one of the highest number of Green Flag accredited parks in the West Midlands and over time we hope to continue to deliver this accreditation throughout all our parks. Service provision includes the Tudor Grange Cycle Track, Football pitches and allotments across the borough.
In conjunction with our contract partner Veolia and Idverde, we are responsible for maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of over 40,000 street trees, not including the hundreds of thousands of trees throughout our parks and woodland areas. We are committed to maintaining Solihull’s trees and the “leafy” borough.
