Nature of work
The Core Theatre is part of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. The venue consists of a 336 seater auditorium, a multi-purpose Studio space and the Courtyard Gallery.
This Privacy Notice outlines how the venue uses the data it collects via the Box Office system.
Data is collected at point of sale and customers can also request to go on the database to receive information about the programme of events and activities that take place at The Core Theatre. This data and customer record is securely kept, linked to their ticket purchasing record (no credit card details are ever known or held on file by the venue or Solihull Council).
At the point of data collection customers are asked if they’d like to receive information about the theatre and its programme, and/or any specific interests e.g. Drama, Jazz etc.
If the customer chooses they may have information sent to them on a reasonable basis either by email or by hard copy through the post, whichever they have specified.
Customers not choosing to receive information about the venue can still give contact information to be used only in the event of a cancelled show, or similar problem with a show that they have purchased tickets for. If the customer does not wish to provide any contact information at the point of sale they do not have to, but in the result of a show cancellation or other problem, the Box office would not be able to contact them.
When a customer no longer wishes to receive publicity information they can contact the venue and request that they are no longer sent any information. If they wish to no longer have their data on the database they can request to have complete removal. There are a number of ways to do this; by email, post, telephone or in person. Customers who receive email communication can use the unsubscribe link on the email communication.

Why we need your information
Customer’s information is kept for record of sales in order that the customer can be contacted if there is a cancellation or problem with the performance, for ease of record keeping for future ticket purchases and where requested for marketing purposes.

Information is kept whilst your history is still live and then will be deleted if the service has not been used in the last seven years
Transfers Overseas
The On line booking system is housed and hosted overseas, this only impacts on line ticket buyers.
