Before the Council could adopt a charging schedule it had to publish a preliminary draft and a draft charging schedule, the latter of which was then subject to independent examination.
This page is provided as an archive should there be any interest in the key documents produced leading up to the adoption of the charging schedule.
Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule (2013) – this was published for consultation over a six week period during March & April 2013. The responses at this stage helped inform the next version of the charging schedule.
Draft Charging Schedule (2013) – this was published for consultation over a six week period during October & November 2013. The responses at this stage provided the focus for the subsequent examination.
The Council submitted the draft charging schedule for examination in June 2014. In July 2014 the examination was suspended pending the High Court challenge to the Solihull Local Plan. The CIL examination resumed in March 2015.
The examination was undertaken by Nigel Payne BSC (HONS) DIPTP MRTPI MCMI from the Planning Inspectorate. The hearings were held on Tuesday 2 June 2015 at the Renewal Conference Centre, Lode Lane, Solihull.
Following an invitation from the examiner, the Council consulted on modifications to the submitted charging schedule in October/November 2015.
The examiner issued his report in December 2015.

Via a report to Full Council on 30 September 2015, the Council adopted the Charging Schedule and it came into effect on 4 July 2018.
