QFT - Reasonable adjustments

  • Ensure  the whole school environment  establishes supportive listening and a visual area for effective learning – seating, acoustics, lighting.
  • Risk assessments and PEEPs are in place for pupils where required.
  • Minimise unwanted distractions – auditory, visual, tactile, vestibular and olfactory.
  • Provide a tidy, well organised classroom with clear labelling of resources.
  • Personal signifier to identify self (all persons of interaction).
  • Safe area that a pupil can access when needed.
  • Changes in physical and or medical needs are recognised and further advice gained.
  • Ensure the attention of the pupil is gained before speaking.
  • Provide any specialist equipment required for curriculum and access to all educational opportunities.
  • Ensure there are appropriately trained staff to focus on health care needs.
  • Support with Social and emotional needs.
