- Ensure the whole school environment establishes supportive listening and a visual area for effective learning – seating, acoustics, lighting.
- Risk assessments and PEEPs are in place for pupils where required.
- Minimise unwanted distractions – auditory, visual, tactile, vestibular and olfactory.
- Provide a tidy, well organised classroom with clear labelling of resources.
- Personal signifier to identify self (all persons of interaction).
- Safe area that a pupil can access when needed.
- Changes in physical and or medical needs are recognised and further advice gained.
- Ensure the attention of the pupil is gained before speaking.
- Provide any specialist equipment required for curriculum and access to all educational opportunities.
- Ensure there are appropriately trained staff to focus on health care needs.
- Support with Social and emotional needs.
