Health and Wellbeing Strategy – tell us your views

Released:

Solihull residents are invited to share their views on the Council’s Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JLHWS).

The strategy focuses on the key themes and plans to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone across the borough.

The JLHWS, which is intended to run from 2024 to 2032, has six themes, five of which can be considered “across the life course” i.e. from maternity to end of life. The sixth theme focuses on improving mental health for people of all ages.

The draft strategy, which has been developed by the Public Health team at Solihull Council, has taken into account several other documents. These include the Story of Solihull, the Solihull Local Outcomes Framework – which sets out how progress on the strategy will be measured – and the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System 10 Year Strategy.

An 8-week consultation survey on the draft strategy is now available to complete on the Council’s engagement platform “Your Voice Solihull”.

Councillor Ian Courts, Chair of Solihull’s Health and Wellbeing Board and Leader of Solihull Council, said: “Our Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy details how we intend to support all Solihull residents to live healthier and happier lives.

“In particular, the strategy outlines how we plan to reduce the inequalities that we know exist across the borough.

“As a Council, we’re committed to improving people’s lives. I would encourage all residents of Solihull to let us know what you think by completing our short survey.”
