This week I’m going to take a look back over the last 12 months. Think of it as a Big Christmas Cracker, showcasing many of our achievements this Year. Next week our attentions turn to Christmas as minds turn to mince pies, mulled wine and all the other festive treats we’ll share together whilst remembering the true meaning of Christmas.

Solihull Council has approved the next stage of the ambitious regeneration of Kingshurst Village Centre, marking another milestone in this community focused scheme.

Kingshurst residents have officially welcomed the completion of the Kingshurst Park enhancement project, with the milestone marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony led by the Mayor of Solihull.

The Council’s Civic Suite has seen a lot of history during its lifetime. Decisions that impacted the lives of many residents, Mayors and Leaders have come and gone and many dignitaries from around the world have been welcomed to Solihull there. But few evenings over the years can have been as Joyous as Tuesday 2 December, when the Council Chamber played host to the Solihull SEND Awards 2025.

There are lots of things going on in Solihull town centre to get people into the festive spirit this December. Whether it’s Christmas shopping, an exciting pantomime, or a visit from the Grinch, there are plenty of fun activities to choose from!

On Tuesday we hosted the Solihull SEND awards in collaboration with Solihull Parent Carer Voice (SPCV). It was a fantastic evening, with 15 awards given out recognising the achievements of children and young people

Fun and varied activities for children and families this Christmas

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) – which runs Solihull Council’s housing service – has successfully been granted a Closure Order on a property following complaints of anti-social behaviour by a tenant. 

Solihull Council’s Cabinet is being asked to approve the first stage of its new local plan for consultation.
