Stepping up for Solihull Success

Released:

Following the launch of Match My Project in Solihull, 32 businesses and 38 community groups have now signed up to the sharing platform and new mutually beneficial relationships have been formed.

Over 100 businesses and community groups attended the in-person and digital launches of Step up for Solihull and Match My Project.

Step Up for Solihull is about local businesses using their corporate social responsibility programmes or their social value commitments to increase their positive impact on the local community. By stepping up for Solihull and offering expert services, information, and resources, through Match My Project, they can contribute to making Solihull an even better place to live, work and do business.

Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull said:

“I was lucky enough to attend the in-person launch where I met a wide range of businesses and local community groups talking to each other enthusiastically about how they might be able to help each other. I am glad that our local businesses can see the value in supporting our communities in addition to strengthening our growing and thriving economy.

“I want to thank everyone who attended both the in-person launch and the digital launch for taking the time to see how they can step up for Solihull. I hope many will have downloaded the Match My Project app and talked to new potential partners.

“We have one of the strongest economies in the UK and an active, diverse and well-supported community and voluntary sector and through Step Up for Solihull we can strengthen the connections between the public, private, and voluntary sectors.

“Congratulations to all those reaching out to others to make the borough an even better place to live and do business.”
