Nature of work

The Land Charges team undertakes searches on registrations that are held on the local land charges register relating to individual properties. This information is largely used during house sales and contains information regarding planning applications, tree preservation orders, building regulations applications and environmental histories.

We require your information in order to carry out the request for information and return information to the correct individuals.

We process the following types of personal information for individuals who wish for a search to be carried out:

  • Addresses
  • Telephone Number and Email Address when provided

  • Individuals wishing to undertake a land charges search

Information may be shared with other parts of the Council.

How long we will keep your information

Requests and Responses are kept for 6 years.
