If you are experiencing problems with people parking over your drive or you are disabled and need to park close to your home you can apply for an H bar marking or blue badge parking space.
H markings
A H bar marking is an advisory marking that is laid on parts of the public highway. Marked areas should be kept clear of parked vehicles either outside an entrance to off-street premises, or where the kerb is dropped to provide a convenient crossing place for pedestrians.
How do I apply?

How much does it cost?
From 1 April 2024
The standard fee for the installation or repainting of a H mark up to 6m in length is £87.50
Where a H mark is requested for a shared access point with a width greater than 6m. The standard £87.50 fee will apply plus a £11.50 per linear metre charge per additional metre above 6m. i.e. for a 8m H mark the fee would be £87.50 + £11.50 + £11.50 = £110.50
Fees are only payable in the event an application is successful and details of how to pay the fee will be provided at the time any application is approved.
