Details of some of our upcoming highway improvement schemes are set out below:
Wildlife Ways
A programme of works to make Solihull greener by opening up and improving existing routes, so allowing wildlife to flourish. The project will also help encourage more people to walk and cycle across the borough by improving and creating new cycling and walking routes. Further information on the scheme can be found here.
Rural Cross Road Improvement projects
Works are shortly due to commence at three rural crossroads located in the borough which are intended to aid visibility and road safety through the use of collision avoidance systems.
These consist of vehicle actuated flashing signs that alert drivers to the upcoming cross roads and form part of a package of improvements made at these sites. The three cross roads are: Creynolds Lane at Watery Lane, Holly Lane at Table Oak Lane and Hodgetts Lane at Nailcote Lane.
Hampton In Arden - Pedestrian Access and Road Safety Improvements
In partnership with Hampton In Arden Parish Council, funding secured from HS2 and match funding by the Parish Council, Solihull Council Highways are looking to deliver pedestrian access and road safety improvements within the village, early Summer, subject to detail design and satisfactory Statutory Consultations.
