This winter there are lots of “Warm Welcome Hubs” being run at community places around Solihull where the local community can find a safe, warm and friendly space. Each Hub offers something different, so please check the description to see if it is suitable for you and your needs. If in doubt, please contact the Hubs directly.
Balsall Common, Cheswick Green, Meriden, Hockley Heath and Knowle
Location: Balsall Common Methodist Church
Activity: All are welcome to come into a warm space, bring a friend if you wish. Jigsaws, board games, knitting, newspaper are available or just to chat with others over a coffee. Tea/ Coffee and biscuits, sometimes cakes, are provided free of charge

Location: St Peters Church, Balsall Common
Activity: Open every Thursday afternoon during the winter to help people suffering from the cold and the rising costs of energy. There are books and games, and an opportunity to spend time in company, and maybe some other information especially about sources of support made available. There is no charge for attending, and you are also welcome to come and charge your mobile phones, use the internet on our fast broadband connection, and work or just sit quietly. On the 'Second Thursday' of the month, there will be 'Tea and Cakes'!

Activity: Meriden’s Warm Hub is a free weekly coffee morning. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. A substantial hot meal will be provided at lunchtimes (for a small charge). They have lots of support services visiting such as Age UK, Action on Energy, Diabetes UK and Healthwatch and they will signpost residents to other organisations eg housing.
