Residents, businesses and visitors across Solihull have one week left to give their views on Solihull Council’s draft Air Quality Strategy.
A short consultation survey, which will take no more than five minutes to complete, is available to complete on the Council’s engagement platform Your Voice Solihull:Air Quality Strategy 2023 | Your Voice Solihull (engagementhq.com)
The draft strategy details the steps the Council are planning to take between 2024 and 2028 to further improve air quality across the borough.
Air pollution is the top environmental risk to human health in the UK, and the fourth greatest threat to public health after cancer, heart disease and obesity.
Poor air quality is known to shorten lives and impact on people’s quality of life, particularly for the most vulnerable, the young and old, and those living with health conditions.
Councillor Andy Mackiewicz, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Climate Change and Planning, said: “I’d like to encourage anyone who hasn’t yet done so to complete our short survey, which will really help guide our plans on improving air quality across the borough.
“We have a range of environmentally friendly projects planned, building on our existing work in this area.
“The draft strategy gives us a strong and sustainable route to further improve air quality across Solihull over the next few years.”
