Following the Government’s announcement on Monday 14 June that Covid restrictions will remain in place for another four weeks, the Royal British Legion Warwickshire and Birmingham County and Solihull Council have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Opening Ceremony of the Armed Forces Community Garden.
The Opening Ceremony was due to take place on Friday 16 July but in accordance with Government guidance can no longer take place.
All parties are committed to rearranging the ceremony and creating a meaningful event later in the year when it is allowed.
As soon as it is possible to confirm a new date, the Royal British Legion and Solihull Council will let people know through the media, our websites and social media channels.
In the meantime, the Armed Forces Community Garden at Hillfield Park will be open, providing a beautiful and quiet place for veterans, serving personnel and local residents to sit and reflect.
