Business Growth West Midlands will be hosting a free webinar later this week that outlines how Solihull Council and Birmingham City Council can support local businesses in creating, progressing towards and achieving their sustainability goals.
The webinar will give an overview of the concept of net zero for suppliers of Birmingham and Solihull Councils, and businesses that are interested in becoming suppliers to the Councils. Attendees will gain an insight into how increasing their energy efficiency can benefit their businesses. The session will cover Birmingham and Solihull’s ambitions to tackle climate change, the basics of greenhouse gas emissions and how to calculate a businesses’ carbon footprint.
The webinar will also detail the support and grant funding available for sustainability projects. The Birmingham and Solihull Business Growth Hub offers tailored advice and one-to-one sustainability support, as well as access to programmes and grants.
This includes the Net Zero Grant Programme, which helps businesses to reduce their environmental impact and decrease rising energy costs, supporting investment in heating, lighting, solar panels and insulation.
The free online event will take place on Thursday 29 February from 12pm to 1pm. You can find out more and reserve your place here.
Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council and Cabinet Member for Business and Economy, said:
