Council supports Foster Care Fortnight

Released:

Solihull Council is supporting Foster Care Fortnight, the national fostering awareness campaign which aims to showcase the commitment of foster carers and how foster care transforms lives. This year’s campaign takes place from today, Monday 9 May, to Sunday 22 May.

The theme for 2022 is ‘fostering communities’ and will focus on the many ways in which people across the fostering community support each other.

Foster carers of all ages, cultures and backgrounds are needed in Solihull to look after children for short and longer periods of time.

Almost anyone can become a foster carer, whether you are single, married, young or retired, a homeowner or in rented accommodation.  All you need is a spare bedroom and a willingness to give a child a stable and loving home.

The Council is running a virtual fostering information evening on 18 May – if you are interested in joining, please email fosterevent@solihull.gov.uk and you will be provided with the link to the event.
