Young people will have the chance to find out more about apprenticeships and work opportunities available at the show next month.
Following the success of the previous show which attracted over 2,000 visitors, this free event will take place at North Solihull Sports Centre on Wednesday 7 February from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
Attendees will have the chance to speak to employers and training providers from a range of sectors including manufacturing, construction and hospitality. Exhibitors include JLR, Solihull College & University Centre, Graham, British Army, Severn Trent, Reflections Training Academy, Creative Alliance and Solihull Council. Apprenticeships at all levels will be on display. Visitors can speak to current apprentices to get a better understanding of the opportunities available.
Councillor Karen Grinsell, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council, said: “Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to explore their career aspirations. They can earn as they learn with invaluable hands-on experience. We place young people at the heart of all we do to empower them to achieve their goals and potential. This show is pivotal in bridging the gap between education and industry where young people can directly speak to local employers about their company culture. This will enable young people to make an informed decision to start building their careers. Our Employment and Skills Team will be there to offer employment guidance as well. Residents are encouraged to come along and find out more about the opportunities on offer.”
Organised by Solihull Careers Hub which is part of the Council’s Employment and Skills Team, it is free to attend and there is no need to book. However, to make the registration process smoother on the day, you can pre-register by completing the short online form: Solihull Apprenticeship Show Registration Form.
Free parking is available on site: North Solihull Sports Centre, Fordbridge B37 5LA.
