Business Growth West Midlands (BGWM) is hosting a free event next month for businesses and entrepreneurs based in Solihull and Birmingham to highlight the wide range of support and growth opportunities available in the West Midlands.
Following the success of a previous event in November, the ‘Solihull and Birmingham Business Support Update’ will take place on Tuesday 18 June at the Cranmore Park Conference Centre in Shirley. It is targeted at local small-to-medium business owners, along with entrepreneurs looking to start their own businesses.
The free event will cover the wide range of support and tailored growth programmes offered by BGWM. The agenda includes a full funding support showcase with information about grants and finance, multiple networking opportunities and talks from local businesses owners about their challenges and accomplishments as a result of the support available.
There are also new programmes launched to support use of waste and resources, innovation, social enterprise and access to public sector procurement opportunities.
Business Growth West Midlands is part of the West Midlands Combined Authority’s ‘Plan for Growth’, a strategy to boost economic growth in the region funded by a £42 million investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. There is no cost to businesses who take advantage of the support, programmes, and events that BGWM have to offer.
Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council and Cabinet Member for Business and Economy, said:
“This event is a brilliant opportunity to build collaboration and support among local businesses and ensure our fantastic range of entrepreneurs in Solihull are fully aware of the resources, grants and support programmes available to them completely for free via Business Growth West Midlands.”
“Business Growth West Midlands continues to play a vital role in driving our local economy forward and giving our local businesses more opportunities to grow, thrive and succeed. Whether you’re seeking grant application advice or looking to expand your network, I would encourage any local entrepreneur to register for their place at this invaluable business support event.”
