Following the children’s Coronation bookmark design competition earlier this year, Solihull Libraries now have a supply of free Coronation commemorative bookmarks up for grabs at libraries across the borough.
There are four designs to choose from, each designed by one of Solihull’s young artists. The bookmarks depict different aspects of The Coronation and how we celebrated it in Solihull – with King Charles, crowns, corgis, cakes and crisps all featuring prominently!
Winner of the under 5s category was Malachi (4 ½), the 5 – 8 years category was won by Eloise (7), Chloe (11) won the 9 – 11 years category and 16-year-old Simran won the 12 – 16 years category.
The young winners and their families were treated to afternoon tea with the Mayor of Solihull and given gift vouchers and certificates.
The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Diana Holl-Allen MBE said:
“We had some fantastic entries from children across the borough and judging was extremely difficult. Not only do these designs show how creative our young people are, but they are also a lovely way to document how we celebrated the Coronation of King Charles. Thank you to all the young people who designed a bookmark.”

A display of the winning designs and semi-finalists is on display in The Core Library.
