Have your say on new walking and cycling routes to Blythe Valley Park

Released:

Solihull Council is inviting residents to have their say on new walking and cycling routes to Blythe Valley Park by taking part in a consultation.

The Active Travel Routes will connect Blythe Valley Park with Monkspath and Dorridge and the consultation is open until 5 August.

As well as the online consultation, there are two opportunities to meet staff face to face in July to find out more about the schemes.

Councillor Ken Hawkins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Highways, said:

“As a Council we are constantly looking for more ways to help and support people to leave their cars at home and travel by foot, bike and public transport. It’s good for our health, for our air quality and will help us achieve our net zero carbon targets as a borough. It’s also good for your pockets – if you can make some changes in your travel habits you will save money too.

“We want to make sure we get the new active travel routes right so please get involved with the consultation.”

To take part in the consultation, you can attend either of the following face-to-face consultations:

  • Monkspath Junior and Infant School’s Blue Room, Tuesday 12 July 2022, 5pm - 7pm
  • St James’ Church Hall, Manor Road, Thursday 14 July 2022, 5pm - 7pm
