Solihull Council is looking for people throughout the borough who can help with its work to support people with cost of living pressures.
Deputy Leader for Solihull Council and Cabinet Member with responsibility for partnerships and well-being, Cllr Karen Grinsell, explained:
“During the pandemic, the Solihull Covid Community Champions network helped the Council and NHS by sharing their insights and experiences with us so that we could better understand some of the issues that people were facing. They also helped distribute local and national information and messages in their communities and networks.
“We are now experiencing rising energy prices and increasing cost of living pressures and think that a new network could help us again. Although we have worked with local and national organisations to help our residents as much as possible with financial support and advice – particularly with energy costs, food and money – we want to see if there is anything else that is needed and that we can help with. That is why we are setting up a Cost of Living Community Champions network on a similar basis to the Covid Community Champions network.
“If anyone would like to help us and can commit to an hour’s meeting every fortnight, please complete an expression of interest form. We will also be producing a cost of living e-newsletter with information to share.”
