Ofsted Children’s Home report published

Released:

Ofsted has published an inspection report on one of Solihull’s children's homes.

Responding to the report a Solihull Council spokesperson said:

“Our children’s services has been on an improvement journey for some time now and through the regular Ofsted monitoring visits it is clear that we are making significant progress. Inspectors continually acknowledge the positive impact that our ongoing improvement programme is making, with many areas of strength being cited. This reflects the hard work of our staff to deliver high-quality services for children and families in Solihull.

The findings from Ofsted’s inspection of one of our new children’s homes is disappointing; however, this is a specific operational issue, what we are doing with our new homes is an important and unique initiative for our children and we know what needs to improve. We already have a robust improvement plan in place that has been endorsed by Ofsted, and we are working hard to address the issues.

Our intention is to welcome children back into the home within the coming months, once we and Ofsted are satisfied that we can provide the high quality of care we expect for our children.”
