Solihull Apprenticeship Show returns

Released:

Young people across Solihull will have the chance to learn about apprenticeships and work opportunities available in the region at the Solihull Apprenticeship Show in October.

With over 3,000 visitors attending the two previous shows, this free event is a great opportunity for young people to learn about apprenticeships as an alternative to further studies. It will take place at Cranmore Park on Wednesday 16 October from 3:30pm to 7:00pm.

Apprenticeships at all levels will be on display. Visitors will have the chance to speak to employers and training providers from manufacturing, construction, hospitality and healthcare sectors. Exhibitors include National Grid, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS, Rolls-Royce, the NEC group, Royal Air Force, Solihull College & University Centre, South & City College Birmingham and Solihull Council. Current apprentices will be on hand to share their first-hand experience with visitors.

Councillor Michael Gough, Portfolio Holder for Skills, Employment & Inclusion, said: “We place young people at the heart of all we do. We always work to ensure that they have the information and tools that helps them plan their next steps. The show will do just that.

“A parent recently thanked us for organising the show. With all the information gathered from exhibitors in the previous shows, her son decided to apply for an apprenticeship post 16. He succeeded in securing a Level 3 engineering apprenticeship with a leading employer. I am sure he won’t be the only one. I encourage all young people in Solihull to come along and learn about the opportunities available. Our Employment and Skills Team will be there to offer employment guidance as well.”

Organised by Solihull Careers Hub which is part of the Council’s Employment and Skills Team, it is free to attend and it is advised to book in advance. Free parking is available on site. For more information or sign up, please visit this webpage.
