Solihull Local Plan – Update 19 January 2024
Following the publication of the long-awaited revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), the Inspectors undertaking the independent examination of the Solihull Local Plan have now written to the Council, pointing out that the new NPPF has transitional arrangements in it which means that the new NPPF does not apply to the examination of plans already submitted.
The Inspectors have asked the Council to confirm how it wishes to proceed with the examination.
Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council, said:
“We need to take time to consider the implications of the revised NPPF, and how any additional flexibility it provides can be best used to support the long-term interests of the borough in the most effective and meaningful way, in particular the protection of the Green Belt.
“We will respond to the Inspectors in due course and provide updates when we have them.”
