Solihull Council is working with local and national organisations to make sure Solihull residents get extra help this winter with our Here2Help campaign. Alongside webpages, advice booklets and helplines, Here2Help is going live with two events in December.
Here2Help Goes Live!
- Friday 9 December, 10am – 2pm at The Core, Solihull town centre
- Tuesday 13 December, 9.30am – 1pm at Chelmsley Wood Library
Both events will have staff from the organisations involved in the campaign, offering free advice and support on a range of topics, including energy and fuel, finance, work, housing and mental health.
Councillor Karen Grinsell, Deputy Leader for Solihull Council and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Partnerships and Well-being, said: “There is no need for anyone to feel on their own – lots of help is available from the Council and from national and local organisations like Solihull Age UK, the Colebridge Trust and Act On Energy.
“We know it can be difficult to find the right advice and support and we want to make sure that residents can access support in a way that works for them. All the information is held in one place on the Council’s Here2Help web pages. We’ve also produced a booklet that’s been posted direct to residents over 75 years old and is also available at Solihull libraries and some GP surgeries. But it’s also good to meet people face to face – something we’ve all missed out on over the last couple of years – and get advice direct from Council teams and organisations we’re working closely with, which is why we’ve organised these two events.
“My message is – don’t go it alone, we are here to help this winter. Come and talk to us at one of our events, pick up a here2help booklet or look at our here2help web pages and get some advice and support.”
