Most shops now offer a battery take back scheme or alternatively you can book a small items collection

Some retailers offer in-store electrical and electronic recycling. B & Q offer in-store recycling for small electrical items, batteries, light bulbs and fluorescent tubes. 

Curry's also offer in-store recycling from computers to toasters. 

Water Filters
