Big Community Switch

The Big Community Switch can help you switch energy suppliers, move to a renewable electricity tariff and save money on your energy bills. It uses the bargaining power of a large group to help secure lower prices.
Solihull Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and has set a target for the borough to reach net zero emissions by 2041. Switching to green, renewable energy is one way you can help play your part in reducing our carbon emissions, whilst you might save yourself money.
How does it work?
- Registration: you can register for free and without obligation from Monday 17 February 2025 until Monday 28 April 2025 at bigcommunityswitch.co.uk/solihull.
- Auction: an ‘auction’ is held with pre-vetted energy suppliers on Tuesday 18 March 2025. The supplier who offered the cheapest tariff will get to offer you a new contract.
- Personal offer: you will receive a personal offer on Tuesday 1 April 2025, based on your registration details, and you can see how much money you can save.
- You decide: you can then decide if you want to accept the offer. You do not have to switch and have until Thursday 1 May 2025 to decide.
- Take control: if you accept, you will be one of the thousands who have taken control of their energy costs through this collective energy switching scheme.
