Big Community Switch

Big community switch logo

Big Community Switch helps residents switch energy suppliers, move to a renewable electricity tariff and save money on their energy bills. It uses the bargaining power of a large group to help secure lower prices. Residents can register for free, without obligation.

Solihull Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and has set a target for the borough to reach net zero emissions by 2041. Switching to green, renewable energy is one way you can help play your part in reducing our carbon emissions, whilst you might save yourself money.

How does it work?

  1. Registration: you can register for free and without obligation until 9 December 2024 at bigcommunityswitch.co.uk/solihull.
  2. Auction: an ‘auction’ has been held with pre-vetted energy suppliers. The supplier who offered the cheapest tariff will get to offer you a new contract. The latest auction results are listed below.
  3. Personal offer: you will receive a personal offer, based on your registration details, and you can see how much money you can save.
  4. You decide: the decision is then yours as to whether you want to accept your offer. There is no obligation to switch and you will have until 12 December 2024 to decide.
  5. Take control: if you accept, you will be one of the thousands who have taken control of their energy costs through this collective energy switching scheme.
