Small Habitats Grants Programme
The Small Habitats Grants Programme provided grants to organisations within the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) to deliver green and blue infrastructure improvements.
Delivered through £3.54 million of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and administered by Solihull Council, the programme helped to improve land, water, air quality and the environment for people and wildlife.
Grant funding was awarded to a total of 16 projects across Solihull and those within the GBSLEP area, which included Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Cannock, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Redditch, Tamworth and Wyre Forest.
Projects included grassland creation/enhancement, woodland management, wetland creation/enhancement, tree and hedgerow planting, as well as watercourse restoration.
The programme led to 181.32 hectares of landscape and biodiversity improvements throughout the GBSLEP area.
