Suicide is a tragedy for those that take their own life and for their family and friends.
The Council wants to prevent this tragedy from happening so the long-term ambition is to achieve zero suicides in Solihull.
The current suicide prevention plan runs from 2023 to 2026. It describes the actions that will be taken to reduce the number of suicides in Solihull and to improve the care of families of those who have died by suicide.
This is a whole community plan for Solihull - everyone can play a part in reducing the number of suicides.
You can play your part by becoming a member of the Orange Button community scheme and be trained to have a conversation with someone in distress or with suicidal thoughts, to help them or signpost them to further support.
You can find out more about the orange button community scheme.
Support services
There are support services that you can signpost people to for help and support if they are struggling with suicidal thoughts.
