Nature and environment
In keeping with the Council’s motto ‘urbs in rure’ (town in the country), Solihull’s natural environment is one of its greatest assets. Preserving nature and enhancing biodiversity plays a vital role in the fight against climate change. Planting 250,000 trees over a period of 10 years will help offset a proportion of the borough’s carbon emissions for example. The mental health and wellbeing benefits of nature are also well known.
