Council services over Christmas and New Year 2024

With Christmas around the corner, please be aware that some of our services will be unavailable or open at different times during the festive season.

Council offices and Solihull Connect

Council offices including the Solihull Connect contact centre and Solihull Connect Walk In centres will be closed on:

  • Wednesday 25 December
  • Thursday 26 December
  • Friday 27 December
  • Tuesday 31 December
  • Wednesday 1 January

We will be open as normal on all other weekdays.

Recycling and rubbish collections

Due to the Christmas and New Year bank holidays, there will be changes to some collections.

There will be no collections on:

  • Wednesday 25 December 2024
  • Thursday 26 December 2024
  • Wednesday 1 January 2025

We will be collecting on new dates if you have a Wednesday or Thursday collection.

There are no changes to collections for Monday, Tuesday or Friday. They will continue as scheduled

Bickenhill Household Waste and Recycling Centre

Bickenhill HWRC will be closed on:

  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day
  • New Year's Day

We also close at 2.00pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Libraries

Visit our library closures page for opening days and times. 

Family Hubs

Our Hubs will be closed on:

  • Wednesday 25 December to Friday 27 December
  • Tuesday 31 December to Wednesday 1 January

Leisure Centres

For opening hours visit the North Solihull Sports Centre or Tudor Grange Leisure Centre websites.

Cemeteries

Cemeteries are open from 9.00am to 4.30pm.

Except on:

  • Christmas Day;
  • Boxing Day; 
  • New Year’s Day and
  • Sundays

when they will open from 10.00am to 2.00pm

If you’re facing homelessness or concerned about someone who is sleeping rough you can contact:
