Some adults aged 18 or over with long-term health needs qualify for NHS continuing healthcare (NHS CHC). This means that their package of care is arranged and funded solely by the NHS, with no charges for the care being met by the adult themselves.
Where eligible the NHS covers the cost of the person’s care, whether it is delivered at home or in residential nursing accommodation.
